History

The Business Management and Analysis Group (BMAG) was created in 2001 to provide expert financial accounting and analysis support within the office of the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The idea was for BMAG to function as an internal financial consulting team, reducing the university’s reliance on outside consultants, while retaining the knowledge and significantly lowering the cost of doing business. Building upon our experience, success and cumulative knowledge, our mission quickly evolved to include a wider array of business consulting services throughout the university.

Today, BMAG services many areas of GW, including Academic Affairs, Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment and the Student Experience, Development and Alumni Relations, the Office of the President, External Relations, the Office of Vice President for Research and all areas of the Office of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The BMAG service offerings now include business process analysis, project / program management, financial analysis and formalized facilitation for strategic and business planning. We are committed to providing service excellence to all our customers and to helping GW achieve its strategic goals.
